So far in the book I have really enjoyed reading it. Golding provides , what i fell, is a accurate representation of how these kids would interact given the circumstances. The way that they form cliques and alliances shows the character of the boys. I feel as if the book is going to end with the boys turning against each other with no rescue from the island. They will inevitably destroy on another in an effort to survive.

I think that the book is a really good representation on how most people would be if we landed on a deserted island. First we might try and get together a somewhat coherent group but then we would fall to peaces and probably struggle for group dominance... Personally I think I would become the leader

This book is very interesting. Looking at the priorities of the kids in the situation, I can't say I would have done anything different at that age, but I'm finding now that there are some things that could have been done better. Like the building shelter. I don't think that those huts were really necessary, because they never complained about the weather, besides the heat of the day, which can be escaped in the forest and the water. I believe the hunting should have taken priority over hut building, but the fire should take priority over everything else. Maybe I'm a mixture of Jack and Ralph.

I like this book so far, other the fact that there is clearly a leadership problem between Ralph and Jack. I bet it foreshadows the clan splitting into different tribes or something like that, maybe the hunters vs the littleuns. This book does a good job showing how humanity can degrade without rules and with a spreading fear throughout the island, which i dont blame them because theyre stuck there, alone, with other british kids.

Nw with the tube clearly split between the two groups, I feel as if it is going to be a race to see who can survive without the help of the other. I feel as of the tribes will have to join back together once again to face a common enemy or one may do something drastic against the other and cause an even larger rift to occur between the groups.

On a personal perspective, I find it unsettling that the character I thought was most like me was the first to be murdered by the other children. I know it wasn't for any of the reasons I relate with, but still, it is kind of creepy.

I personally like how that the story seems to be ramping up in terms of Awesomeness. What a great week to be the Summarizer!

Chapters 7-9 definitely had a lot of turning points, especially when Jack went rogue and took most of Ralph's crew with him. The story seems to be taking a very grim turn, the children are losing direction when it comes to being rescued and organizing a civil society, and Simon is crazy. Not a great turn of events, at all.

This book had a very abrupt ending. The way they led up to the end, I expected the group to kill Ralph, and then go chaotic because the jungle was burning down and they were losing the food source. Then there would have been children hoarding food with Jack being the most threatening, and it would come down to survival of the fittest, but no. They just had to bring in a ship to come and save them. Well, I think this should have been an all out, no one survives kind of novel.

The ending really made me angry. I expected Ralph to go Rambo on the "Others" tribe to avenge the deaths of his buddies. But instead some naval officer showed up and acted like nothing happened. Even when told that people died hes like "eh, it happens" but no, it doesn't. I should've found a quicker way to get through this novel. Or maybe a sequel needs to be written where Ralph does avenge his buddies against Jack, and turn the tables against him in Britain.
