Reading Tips?

I'm not going to count this as one of my blogs, but I must ask this question. Does anyone have any reading tips for this book? I find myself really confused as I'm reading it. Hopefully, I'm not the only one having trouble....

Urm - use post-it notes and read a summary of the book afterwards in order to remember key points?

To be honest I read this book in close proximity to my computer. Every time I stumbled upon a difficult passage full of "charming" (outdated) language I searched online to find an explanation of the phrase's meaning and origin. That way, I was sure I had grasped the significance of each passage before moving on. So I guess my best advice on understanding the language is to take it piece by piece and not be afraid to look it up!

I know you only had 50 pages left last night Danielle, but I suggest reading stuff and then rereading it again. I know it makes it so much slower but on my second time through the book I thought it was just that much easier to get used to it. :)?
